GETTING IN
The nearest airport is Monterey Regional Airport, a 50-minute drive from Big Sur. While it’s possible to fly into San Francisco or San Jose, we recommend Monterey for less time driving and more time enjoying beautiful Big Sur.

You’ll need a car to get around Big Sur, as public transit is pretty much nonexistent. Monterey, San Francisco, and San Jose airports all have plenty of rental car options. If you’d like to carpool with other guests, just let us know and we’ll do our best to match you up.

From Monterey, just hop on Highway 1 south and get ready for some scenic views! Some parts of the road are winding and hilly, so we do not recommend making the drive at night.
